The Ramayana is a Sanskrit epic from ancient India, one of the two important epics of Hinduism known as the Itihasas, the other being the Mahabharata.
The Ramayana is one of the most revered ancient Indian epics, attributed to the sage Valmiki. It narrates the life and adventures of Lord Rama, an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu, his wife Sita, and his loyal devotee Hanuman. The epic follows Rama's exile from the kingdom, Sita's abduction by the demon king Ravana, and Rama's quest, aided by an army of monkeys led by Hanuman, to rescue her. Filled with moral teachings, valor, love, and sacrifice, the Ramayana continues to be a significant cultural and spiritual cornerstone in Hinduism and Southeast Asian cultures.
these illustrations are a part of the 150 page project that i worked on, with a publishing company, from April of 2023 - October 2023. The book is yet to be published, but here is a glimpse of the epic "Ramayana".
Mythology and history always intrigues me as an artist. I hope it did too.
